 Kordsa was established by Sabanci Holding of Turkey in 1973 to produce Cord Fabric.
In December 2000, Dusa International LLC was formed as a joint venture between E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co. of the USA and Sabanci Holding of Turkey to combine the nylon industrial heavy decitex yarn and tirecord fabric businesses globally.
In April 2005, Sabanci Holding purchased its equity interests from DuPont and the company was renamed as Kordsa International LLC effective July 01, 2005. At the same time the company has integrated the polyester tire cord operations to its product portfolio.
In July 2006, the headquarters of the Kordsa International LLC was relocated from Wilmington, DE of the USA to Istanbul, Turkey, and the name of the company was changed to Kordsa Global Industrial Yarn and Tirecord Fabric Manufacturing and Trading Inc.
Kordsa Global is one of the largest suppliers of nylon and polyester industrial yarns, tirecord, industrial fabrics and single end cord with a capacity over 150.000 metric tones per year, approximately 20 percent of the global textile rubber reinforcement industry.
Today, Kordsa Global has over 5000 employees in 9 different countries worldwide. With its head office located in Istanbul, Turkey, Kordsa Global is a public company traded in Istanbul Stock Exchange with 2005 revenue of $ 670 million. |
